Man in the Shadow: Michael Fengler on Rainer Werner Fassbinder
Born in 1940, producer, writer and director Michael Fengler was one of the closest and most prolific collaborators of Rainer Werner Fassbinder. Working with Fassbinder on two short films as early as in the mid-sixties, they shared directing credits on THE NIKLASHAUSEN JOURNEY and WHY DOES HERR R. RUN AMOK? before Fengler went on to produce a string of Fassbinder’s most successul pictures, including THE MARRIAGE OF MARIA BRAUN. In this documentary, Fengler tells his side of the story for the very first time.
