Das Arturo-Projekt
Zwei Theatertruppen, ein Wanderzirkus und eine Band beschließen, sich auf ein gewagtes Experiment einzulassen: Die Schauspieler*innen, Artist*innen und Musiker*innen, von denen sich viele für dieses Projekt zum ersten Mal treffen, werden ihre kreativen Kräfte bündeln, um Bertolt Brechts Stück Der aufhaltsame Aufstieg des Arturo Ui auf innovative, spektakuläre Weise aufzuführen. Sie alle eint die Überzeugung, dass Brechts Warnung vor der Machtübernahme eines Diktators heute genauso aktuell ist wie zur Zeit ihrer Entstehung. Über einen Zeitraum von zwei Jahren – von den ersten Proben bis zur fulminanten Premiere – beobachtet DAS ARTURO-PROJEKT eine Gruppe von Künstler*innen, deren Begeisterung ansteckend und unaufhaltsam ist.

Two theatre companies, a travelling circus and a band decide to embark on a daring experiment: The actors, artists and musicians, many of whom are meeting the first time for this project, intend to combine their creative forces to perform Bertolt Brecht’s play The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui in an innovative, spectacular way. All participants are united by the conviction that Brecht’s cautionary tale about a dictator taking power is just as relevant today as it was at the time of its creation. Over a period of two years – from the first rehearsals to the dazzling premiere – THE ARTURO PROJECT observes a group of artists whose enthusiasm and creativity are infectious and unstoppable.
