Salute to John Schlesinger: Midnight Cowboy at SBIFF 1998
In March 1988, the Santa Barbara International Film Festival payed tribute to British filmmaker John Schlesinger (1926-2003) with a screening of his first American film, MIDNIGHT COWBOY (1969). In a Q & A after the screening, Schlesinger talks about the genesis of the film and is later joined by producer Jerome Hellman to share more stories about the shooting of what is now considered one of the most influential films of the New Hollywood era.
