Saving Cain: Robert Blees on Slightly Scarlet

Screenwriter Robert Blees recounts how he started in the business as a contract writer first at Warner Bros. and then at Universal (where he wrote two films for Douglas Sirk). In the 1950s, Blees was hired by producer Benedict Bogeaus to work on two scripts for veteran director Allan Dwan. In this interview segment, Blees chronicles the evolution of his screen adaptation of a James M. Cain novel to what would become the noirish SLIGHTLY SCARLET (1956), starring Rhonda Fleming, Arlene Dahl and John Payne.
